Naz Hamid
Designer
Naz Hamid got his hands dirty, literally and virtually, by delving into various forms of design for the past eight years, before focusing on interactive, web, and user interface design. Naz worked for dot-coms in their first heyday, but saw the light and switched to working solo and with small teams—a practice that allowed him to work on a wide variety of clients including AIGA, Mozilla, Princeton University, Time Warner Cable, and more. Naz has spoken about design for AIGA, Speak Up, and South by Southwest. He works with Happy Cog and on his own accounts via a tiny studio, Weightshift, in Chicago.
In February 2007, STEP Magazine listed and featured Naz as part of its “Field Guide to Emerging Design Talent 2007.” Khoi Vinh, design director at The New York Times Digital says, “If the internet has given us a new breed of designer, then Nazarin Hamid is the archetype: prolific, self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and plainly gifted.”
