  1. 10K Apart: The Responsive Edition

    August 23, 2011

Last year, in partnership with An Event Apart, Mix Online debuted the 10K Apart contest. The challenge was simple: build the best application you can with no more than 10K of code. The 10K was a smash hit. The contest reaped 367 entries in less than a month. And in less than a year, the 10K domain has been tweeted over 11K times. With that kind of encouragement, what could we do but up the ante? So without further ado, say hello to 10K Apart: The Responsive Edition.

  2. AEA Boston Sells Out

    May 15, 2010

Like An Event Apart Seattle before it, An Event Apart Boston has sold out. On May 24-25, 500 highly advanced web designers and developers will spend two days studying best practices and new developments in web design with Jeffrey Zeldman, Eric Meyer, and special guests including Nicole Sullivan, Dan Cederholm, Luke Wroblewski, Aarron Walter, Jared Spool, Greg Rewis, Jeremy Keith, Kristina Halvorson, Andy Clarke, Ethan Marcotte, and Jeffrey Veen.

If you can’t be with us in Boston, there are three shows still to come this year: An Event Apart Minneapolis on July 26–27; An Event Apart Washington, DC (with optional A Day Apart on CSS3 and HTML5) on Sept. 16–18; and An Event Apart San Diego on Nov. 1–2. Tickets are first-come, first-served, and are going fast. Don’t miss this year’s An Event Apart for people who make websites.

  5. Beantown bye-bye

    June 25, 2009

An Event Apart Boston 2009 is now history. Over 400 passionate practitioners of standards-based design joined us at the Marriott Copley Place for two intensely educational days of best practices and creative new ideas with Happy Cog’s Daniel Mall, Whitney Hess, founder Jeffrey Zeldman, and 12 other high-octane speakers. The next AEA event takes place October 12–13 in Chicago.

  6. An Event Apart Seattle – That’s a Wrap!

    May 8, 2009

On May 4–5, a sellout crowd enjoyed two days of peace, love, design, code, and content at An Event Apart Seattle, our design conference for people who make websites. Highlights included Kristina Halvorson’s impassioned advocacy and how-to session on content strategy; Luke Wroblewski’s insights into designing web forms to create compelling and successful user experiences; and Derek Powazek’s practical tips on creating positive participation on your website. Our next show, An Event Apart Boston, takes place June 22–23. Seating is still available; earlybird discount pricing ends May 25.

  7. Web Design Survey Findings

    April 7, 2009

Once again, 30,000+ A List Apart readers took time to fill out our survey—and we spent six months slicing and dicing the results. Find out what we learned about web design as a profession. Read the survey findings.

The annual A List Apart survey is the only public source of data on the salaries, titles, and work satisfaction of full-time, part-time, salaried and freelance web professionals.

  8. An Event Apart 2009

    January 5, 2009

Now you can claim a seat at any of this year’s fantastic events: Seattle, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco!
