Weil, Gotshal & Manges

Bold meets responsive

Wel home (dark)

Weil home (light)

The Weil, Gotshal & Manges law firm has been practicing for more than 80 years, and is located in three continents with 19 offices worldwide. Their practice focuses on litigation, corporate, restructuring, and tax and benefits matters. Weil is consistently ranked as one of the most prestigious law firms in the world.

Weil’s dynamic visual identity stands out from the likes of its competitors. At the time of our engagement, Weil’s image had been updated to reflect its unique personality, but the website lacked that bold, contemporary, different experience captured by the recent identity update. This high-energy personality comes from more than just high-contrast photography, a bright palette, and a powerful typeface. A contemporary website experience demands relevant content delivered successfully to any web-enabled device, which Happy Cog addressed through content management and system elasticity.

The new site was designed with four audience goals in mind: reaching out to prospective clients, maintaining relationships with current clients, attracting top-tier talent applications, and surfacing reference content for the firm’s internal audience.

Clients hire Weil because they want a business partner; not just a lawyer. To tell this story, it was most important the new site brought Weil’s people, culture, and impact to the forefront of the user experience. The redesigned site weaves content together to cross-promote narratives by using key statistics, meaningful headings and quotes, employee bios, case studies, and more.

No content is buried on the redesign–Weil's mobile navigation exposes all corners of the site.
