Cirrus Logic is a premier supplier of audio and voice IC and software solutions for mobile communications, automotive entertainment and consumer audio applications. In short, Cirrus Logic products are part of devices many of us use each day. The versatility of their technologies meant reimagining their brand in an innovative and unique way, while keeping real-life context examples at top-of-mind for visitors.

Cirrus Logic’s refreshed brand identity centers on the idea of visualizing sound. This is achieved through representations of the doppler effect used in various ways—buttons, hero treatments, links, and featured modules—throughout the site. In these moments, we use points of focus with rings that emanate off of those focus points. This doppler effect motif is an ownable, unique element that is essential to the Cirrus Logic brand language, bringing a cohesive yet unexpected experience to their responsive redesign.

In addition to visualizing sound, the brand identity also evokes Cirrus Logic’s fun company culture. The bright colors and big, bold, geometric typeface reference underground music magazines. The off kilter positioning and sizing of elements throughout the site feels like musical patterns. All of these elements combined communicate the Cirrus Logic brand personality.

We provided Cirrus with animation guidelines and technical illustrations of product context so their team could continue to maintain and extend the new design system.
