When Monotype Imaging decided to build the redesign of squarely upon web fonts and an improved online customer experience, they selected Happy Cog as both a partner that fit its design project needs, as well as a member of its core customer audience. Fueled by insights surfaced in user research, Happy Cog designed a variety of charming font selection processes throughout the site, while reimagining a stripped down shopping cart built around a tabular system.


To create a tight community, members can rate and provide feedback on typefaces.

Foundational within Happy Cog’s extensible design system is a striking hero image designed by a rotating group of typography-loving designers recruited from the greater design community.

While the typeface treatment inspires users, it also provides with a meaningful marketing opportunity to welcome the design community into the site experience itself, establishing the experience within their user audience.
